Self Esteem Course
Ladies ask yourself these few simple questions:

- Have you confidence in dealing with life’s challenges?
- Do you feel worthy of respect, achievement and happiness?
- Are you ready to take responsibility to gain freedom
This course is aiming to encourage acceptance and appreciation of ourselves but just as importantly of others also. Our value does not lie in what we can achieve or in how good we feel but in WHO WE ARE – faults and all.
The aim of the course is that we finish with a different way of thinking than what we started with; a way that enables us to accept, love and respect ourselves and others too. It is only when we look beyond ourselves that we can truly meet our own needs.
The course is 3 hours a week for 10 weeks and is for women
Before I started attending this 10 week course, I was feeling low, depressed and insecure. I wasn’t motivated and felt my emotions were really confused. I also lacked any self confidence or self worth which resulted in me living behind a mask and doing anything I could to please others, to be liked and accepted.
In order to do this I turned to alcohol. In the short term it made me feel good and confident. In the long term it made me feel more anxious and depressed, but I felt as if it was my best friend and I could block out past and present emotions.
The course sessions have enabled me to look back at my life at problems in my family and relationships and realise how they have affected my life today. The problems I was experiencing were just the tip of the iceberg. With the help of Project Colt’s structured but relaxed counselling sessions and with support from the group I am now able to identify the roots of my problems that result in my depression and to find a resolve.
I have gained confidence, I don’t dwell on situations anymore and can evaluate and reason them without rushing in and regretting it afterwards. I have learned I don’t always have to say ‘yes’ and do things just to please others. I now take care to regard my own feelings and needs. I have given up drinking as I don’t need this crutch anymore. I don’t feel depressed and anxious all the time. My life has improved and people around me have noticed.
I hope that in the future more people who need it will be given access to this course as it is life changing. Its great to smile again!!
